Oh hey, it’s Knowember
Robert Birming has started a fun little blog event that he calls Knowember. It’s all about getting to know your bloggers. Robert rightfully stated that it can be quite difficult to write about yourself. So instead of agonising over a blank page, I took his questions for a spin:
A photo

Look, it’s meeeee. My friend @florianziegler took it last year. For more than ten years now, I’ve been exclusively using Florian’s photos my avatar online. He’s that good.
And because my previous one was from 2016, I asked Florian to take another shot while we were both at WordCamp Europe in Basel. After a couple of attempts to surprise me and make me make a friendly face, this is where we ended up. I’m pretty happy with it.
Name or nickname
Hey, I’m Simon. The domain might have given it away. I never really had a nickname. Let me know if you have suggestions …
Where in the world I blog from
I live and work in southern Germany, right at the German-Swiss border. Most of the content I write for this blog and all my other projects is written there. I spent a lot of time setting up a cosy office, so I want to make some use of it.
But I also travel quite a bit. In fact, I’m currently having breakfast in a hotel in Manchester, while writing this.
What my blog is mostly about
Well, you tell me. I haven’t figured that out yet. When I re-started my blog last year I wanted to keep it as broad as possible. I spend a lot of my waking hours thinking about WordPress and working on WordPress products, so that somewhat bleeds into this blog as well. But here I mainly write about my travels, big plan, and small and silly things.
